We decided to take our grandchildren to the mall before the Songkran holiday. As we walked around, we started to feel hungry, so we stopped by one of the mall's restaurants. There were several options available, but we chose to dine at Sizzler. The manager was friendly and provided excellent service. He was also kind enough not to charge us for the young children who accompanied us. If he had, we probably would have declined, as the children only ate a small amount of crackers and bread.
Arriving during a time with relatively few people, there were many empty tables available. After choosing a suitable table, we went to get some salad to eat.
Our little table
As I mentioned, I arrived at the restaurant well past noon, and it was quite crowded. While I didn't have to wait for a table like during peak hours, the food selection was significantly depleted. The staff diligently refilled the dishes, but I was experiencing leg pain that day, so I only managed one round and took what was available.
One plate of salad
The sizzling salad at Sizzler is still reliable in terms of variety and freshness. After taking a plate, I sat at the table and was served a cup of pumpkin soup. I actually wanted chicken tom yum soup, but it seemed like there was only broth left. So, I just had the pumpkin soup.
Sizzler's pumpkin soup remains rich, fragrant, sweet, and creamy. Sipping it warm helps to warm the stomach and prepare it for the salad and main course.
Children enjoy crackers, breadsticks, and fruits.
Fried fish with bread crumbs :: Fish and chips
This dish is for the big guy. Kids usually like to eat crispy fried food, especially with French fries, which are often snatched away by their younger siblings. The more they eat together, the more fun it is. The firm white fish meat, coated in crispy breadcrumbs, provides a satisfying crunch. The Thousand Island sauce is a perfect complement, cutting through the richness of the dish. A small side salad is also included, but of course, the kids won't finish it.
Teriyaki & Mushroom Chopped Steak
This dish was a slight disappointment. The ground beef steak was expected to be more tender and smooth, but it was rather tough and dry. However, the teriyaki sauce with mushrooms was flavorful and significantly improved the overall taste of the steak.
The fried onion rings and french fries were, in my opinion, a bit dry and hard. Overall, I was not impressed with this promotional menu item. However, I will likely continue to visit Sizzler, although I will probably avoid ordering the ground beef menu item in the future.
