Kaeng Krachan - November 2025

In the morning with temperature at 18 degrees in Bangkok and we expected colder outside. Kang Krachan is our destination this time.

The plan was with 7 persons "Pai Tiew Kan Gang" and we had great trip to Chumphon in July, so we planned this time as our ep2. Unfortunately (ep1. is Chumphon), Deer, Ton Nam and R cannot join so these memories we share for them to jealous :)

However, we have big guest "Fang" who is my friend in another group want to join us. Then we become 6 persons in total, and the food fun friends trip began

29th November

Our meeting point was near BTS-Lad Prao station. 0800am we left Bangkok by minivan and heading out to Ratchapruek road. 

On the way we stopped by at the breakfast shop for the first meal of the trip.

The food is simple, but the taste is amazing.

And prices very cheap

We finish breakfast and continue to Samut Songkram province to see the railway market. Some of us never visit this market so this is first time

We arrived at the station around 30 minutes before the train arrive. So, we have time to relax 

We stepped in to the coconut cafe. And I got a coconut ice-cream with local snack as toping

Ple looking for coffee and Fang need hot tea. 

So, we moved to another cafe, and they both got want they want

The train arrived on time, and they ran up on the train to get nice shots

After that we walked through the market to the temple Wat Baan Laem which is one of important temples in Samut Songkram

We got some Thai dessert, pumpkin, taro, banana steam and top with coconut. And also, some Thai sausage 

And someone got new hat

We left the market and continue to visit the famous temple in Petchaburi which is Wat Khao Yoi. The temple where there is some part located in the cave. 

And the name is Wat Tham Khao Yoi

There is reclining buddha in the cave and some other buddha images as well. 

We walked around the cave and worship to the buddha image then left.

We arrived second stop which is KHAO WANG. The old palace which is a beautiful viewpoint as well.

Before we went up to the viewpoint. We stopped at the nearby for lunch. All noodle menus are good taste as well as the rice top with hot and spicy shrimp with basil 

After lunch we bought ticket and also cable car. We took a cable car from ground floor. 

The weather was so good and clear sky then we can see good view from the top of mountain.  

We enjoyed walking around the palace and listen the history of the palace from staff then came down by cable car. 

There were some spot that need to walk a bit long distance from palace, and we all agreed to skip that place as we have another activity at resort.

We left the viewpoint and continue to check in at resort. 

We booked The River Tales Kaeng Krachan because Ping Pong one of our group members wishes to stay at the resort someday.

We arrived resort around 4.3pm. Checking and quickly change our cloths for rafting on the river

The local truck took us to the beginning point which is around 15 minutes by car

We arrived to the point with the life jacket and standby for staff prepare the rubber raft for us

The river flow slowly and the water is clean and clear

We all 5 persons on one raft while there are another 4 rafts from same resort float along the river

The temperature was around 20 degrees which is very good for this activity 

Along the way to our resort which took around 1 hour. There are lots of riverside resort, some resorts with slider and water activities for fun

Fang finally jumps into the water. With the life jacket she just holds the rope and let herself float follow the raft

We arrived back to resort, take shower and ready for dinner

We ordered hot pot for dinner

But when dinner started with good smell of homemade pizza

Then we order one Hawaiian 

Hot pot was so good, all ingredient with good quality and sukiyaki soup not too salty 

We were enjoyed our dinner, and we were the last group who left the restaurant

Say good night to each other and return to the room. The room with 2 big beds, good aircon and large bathroom

After shower, we spent time talking and I checked some emails for my work then turn off and enjoy bedtime.

30th November

It was a wonderful morning. I woke up around 6am as usual and walked out from the room to the river. 

Sitting there listens to sound of water, wind moving the bamboo Leafs, birds singing. 

The sound of the water flowing pass the resort with the warm light of the sun rising is amazing scene.

Ple was second one woke up early morning and follow me walking along the river. 

Smell of the flower they growth around area make us feel fresh. The End of the walkway is the cafe for breakfast. We both was the first guests arrive there this morning 

We order drink, and walk around the buffet line

All food look so nice and smell was so good as well

We picked some item and start our breakfast

Pingpong and PP came later and the last was Fang

We were enjoying breakfast slowly as we want to spend longer time at their cafe

You see the venue, you will see the reason

Finally, we left for shower and prepare to check out. 

Before we left, we were lucky to see a lovely couple of hornbills. 

Driver was there standby for us and after checked out we start our plan for today before we return to Bangkok

The first place of 2nd day of this trip was to take long tail boat for Sightseeing around the Kaeng Krachan Dam

We arrived at the Tourist Centre where we bought ticket for the boat tour. The boat tour is only THB 600/boat which can fit for all of us

Before getting on the boat, we took some memories shots with a sign of UNESCO because Kaeng Krachan National Park is the largest National Park in Thailand and was announced by UNESCO to be World Heritage Site. So, there are many people come here for camping, animals and bird watching. 

But we have a short trip so just to see around is good enough

The boat took us to visit monkey island where there are lots of small monkey. Some of them swim to the boat. They are good monkey, not dangerous

After monkey island, the boat took us to another island with very good viewpoint

Around 20 minutes, we left the island, and the boat took us around the dam before return to the pier.

It was a nice boat trip, the view is amazing

Before we left the Park, we took other memories shots with a big sign. 

There were some foreigners arrived same time with us and I helped them take group photos and they return with join in our frame. It's become another paragraph of memories when we met new friend during the trip. They are French, even we cannot speak French, and they are also not good in English, but we had great conversation

Finally, we left the dam and heading out from the Park. The next stop was another cave. Tham Khao Luang.

It took around one hour from the dam to the cave. And walked around 10 minutes before steps down

There was always beautiful inside this cave. I came here many times with difference friends.

This time we met with a local guy and listen another history about the cave, and he was so kind to help us took nice photo

We spent around 30 minutes because PingPong fell not well with dark and narrow place. Then we left the cave

Another stop was for lunch, Baan Rai Nam Ing was the restaurant that I chose for them.

We arrived at good time, not busy hour so we order all food we want

My most favorite menu at this restaurant still yellow curry

I can say this restaurant is very good option if you travel to Petchaburi. The prices is cheap but the quality is high, and taste is very good

We finished all dishes and left to the souvenir shop. One of the most important for every trip is souvenir for those friends who did not join us this time

We got all souvenir and left Petchaburi around 4pm to Bangkok

It was a quick and short trip, but the memories will be long lasting. We felt like we came so long and we did many activities and visit many places. The plan was changed again and again from the beginning but all of us were enjoy with every moment. 

The world is a book, and those who cannot travel this time only read a page. This
